How to extend the shelf life of Maple Syrup.

The shelf life of maple syrup in an unopend container at room temperature is about 6 to 8 months. You can extend the shelf life indefinitely by putting the container in the freezer. However many people may not have enought freezer space to do this. Fortunately there is an alternative. Specially coated jugs can ber ordered with your maple syrup. These jugs will extend the shelf life of your syrup to about 1 year. Of course if you have room you can put these jugs in the freezer as well and get indefinite storage. It is interesting to note that Maple syrup in a standard freezer does not actually freeze solid. Rather it gets very thick.
